The intent of this RFP is to establish a contract with a contractor capable of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, installation, maintenance, removal, and related services required for a successful lighting program. Background The City of Wyandotte has historically installed decorative holiday lighting along various downtown corridors to enhance the seasonal atmosphere and support local businesses. The contract shall include lighting of trees, municipal buildings, pedestrian areas, and various decorative installations in public spaces throughout Downtown Wyandotte. In addition, contractors may propose enhancements or alternative solutions that maintain or improve quality. Project Description The project consists of furnishing holiday lighting materials and equipment, installing lighting at designated locations, conducting as-needed inspections and maintenance, removing lighting at the end of the season, and performing all related services. The selected contractor shall provide all non-City-owned materials on a lease basis and retain ownership after removal. Bid Opening: 2:00 p.m., Local Standard Time, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 Location: City Hall, 3200 Biddle Avenue, Wyandotte, Michigan Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the time of submission. Proposal Submission Requirements Proposals must include the following: • Contractor background and qualifications. • Detailed description of services to be provided. • Project timeline and installation plan. • Color pattern proposals. • Pricing proposal including material, installation, maintenance, and takedown costs. • Proof of insurance and licensure. • List of references for comparable projects. In order to qualify, all Bidder’s must attend the mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting at 9:00am on Monday, July 27th, 2026, located at City Hall: 3200 Biddle Avenue, Suite 300. Submission Instructions The City of Wyandotte will receive sealed bids at 3200 Biddle Avenue, Wyandotte, Michigan, for the “FILE #4913 – DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY LIGHTING SERVICES” at 2:00 p.m., Local Standard Time, Tuesday, August 11th, 2026 at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids shall state price for all items as specified, which price shall be in full for all labor and materials for the complete execution of the work. Proposals may not be honored unless made on the forms furnished for this purpose and with all blanks properly filled out. All prices must be written in both words and numerals. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and also the right to waive any formal defects in bids when deemed in the best interest of the City. Contract may be let in its entirety only or portions of bid. The bidder must accompany his bid with a bidder’s bond, certified check, or cashier’s check payable to the City of Wyandotte for the sum of not less than 5% of the amount bid. If the bidder does not submit said bidder’s bond, certified check, or cashier’s check, then the City will not consider your bid. In the event the successful bidder fails or neglects to enter into contract with the City, and furnish the necessary bonds all within twenty (20) days of the date of the award, the bidders bond or certified or cashier’s check shall be forfeited to the City of Wyandotte as liquidated damages.
